At Apple’s recent “One More Thing” event they announced the new M1 processor Macs. This is Apple’s own silicon, and enables a number of impressive improvements over previous Macs. Speed in increased, energy consumption decreased. This means huge increases in battery life for the new MacBook Airs and Pros.
